developing all people into fully devoted followers of Christ

Wooster Grace Community Development

Sowing Hope backpackWooster Grace values community development.  We are privileged to impact our local community through our Sowing Hope (internal link=new page) Ministries here in Wooster, Ohio and in the Central Africa Republic (C.A.R.) where we partner with International Community Development International (ICDI)

Sowing Hope is a ministry here at Wooster Grace where people from our church go to where the needs are the greatest.  As Pastor Ivanildo Trindade shared, "People from the south side of Wooster will not normally come to our church building or church functions. We must go where they are if we want to have a real opportunity to impact their lives for Christ."

Wooster Grace offers many things to those here in Wooster, including but not limited to:

  • Food drives and distribution through our church "Feed the Need" project and with People to People Ministries
  • One-on-one mentorship of boys and girls
  • Sponsoring children for our Upwards Basketball program
  • Back to School Backpack project
  • Thursday morning ladies gathering at the Towers

ICDI is a ministry that helps whole communities in Central Africa.  They intend to follow steps to assist communities towards better life--both spiritual and physical.  ICDI seeks to follow steps for helping communities.

By God's grace and the generous gifts from our church, we have helped drill three wells (one new well & two rehabs), built 3 latrines, and assisted the community of Pama in the C.A.R. in renovating their school building.  In fact, in the fall of 2009 Pama opened its school for their community.  We are awaiting the launch of our agricultural partnership prior to the next rainy season.  We praise God for letting us partner with ICDI to reach out a world in need.
