developing all people into fully devoted followers of Christ

Wooster Grace Orphanages

Project Hope ChariteWooster Grace values the poor, the orphan, and the widow.  We are blessed by a great congregation that gives to help the poor, the orphans and the widows in two parts of the world—Central Africa and SE Asia.

God has a heart for the orphan and widows.  In the C.A.R., God has allowed us to work with VisionTrust and Project Hope & Charite to help 51 orphaned children in their Orphan Care program.  In SE Asia, God has prompted our church leadership to help build orphanages called Grace Place: Grace Place Battambang in Battambang, Cambodia and Grace Place Thailand in Wiang Pa Pow, Thailand.   Wooster Grace partners with Asia’s Hope to 68 rescue orphans in SE Asia right now.

Grace Place Battambang

Wooster Grace currently sponsors one orphan home in Battambang, Cambodia housing 40 children and a second home in Thailand with 35 children.

Former Pastor of Outreach Ivanildo Trindade said about the inception of our orphan outreach, “I want to motivate our people to do something about rescuing children in Southeast Asia who are living a desperate life or are in danger of falling into the hands of the peddlers of the sex trade in that part of the world. Whole families get an opportunity to give money together and talk about why we are doing this.”  Wooster Grace believes every person matters to God. Therefore, we seek to share God's love and care for these children.

Senior Pastor Bob Fetterhoff had the opportunity to visit Cambodia in May 2009 to meet the 40 children who have been rescued from a life of poverty, disease and human trafficking. “I have never felt love like I did from these children. I saw the faces of children who had lacked basic nutrition and medical treatment. I saw children and adults who live at a huge garbage dump in the capital of Phonm Penh searching for anything to eat or sell. And, I saw the difference Christ followers have made in the lives of children who have been rescued from squalid and hopeless conditions. After I visited in the spring of 2009, I decided to do more to raise awareness and help fund the construction of orphan homes in that part of the world,” said Fetterhoff. Thus, began the first of our orphan rescue homes.

Grace Place Thailand

Wooster Grace partners with Asia’s Hope, a multi-denominational, grassroots movement dedicated to providing quality long-term care for orphaned children at high risk of sexual and economic exploitation.  If you would like to receive a monthly newsletter via email, or for more information, please contact Juana Hernandez @ (330) 264-9459 ext. 246 or jhernandez@woostergrace.org
